Death by potato chip

So, I'm eating some chips. Ok, ok, it's 9:26 am........don't judge. Besides, they're SWEET potato chips, so that's makes them good for me, just like the organic pop tart I had for breakfast. Anyway, I just bit into them and tiny shards of chip went in my eye. O.M.G. The AGONY!!! Who knew a potato chip crumb could be so painful?!? Da-yum.

It's the perfect start to my day really. The only saving grace to this HORRENDOUS week so far? TOMORROW IS EXTENDED DAY!! Can I get an AMEN from the choir please? Seriously, this weeks suuuuuucks so far, and it's only Tuesday. Yesterday, I had a nice little pow-wow with Miss Kristi (Ben's teacher) and apparently some of the boys haven't been listening, fooling around at snack time, being mean, etc, etc. Fantastic. Now, I could make a comment here about who I believe starts these shenanigans, but I won't. I'll be a responsible parent. I had a nice talk with Ben about following the rules, and then daddy had another talk with him when he got home too. If you sit down and mean business with Ben, that's usually it, there's no more issues. So I hope that's the case this time around as well. I even made him apologize to his teacher this morning for not listening. I'm so mean.

My other child has decide this week would be a good week to revolt against naps. Psh, she IS almost 9 months and all. Naps are for babies. Yesterday she fought her morning nap, and fell asleep just in time to have me wake her up to go pick up Ben. THEN, she screamed through her afternoon "nap" like it was her job. The fact that I was extremely impressed at how much she LOVED her tofu cubes at lunch, didn't matter much when she screamed and cried for almost an hour. But, really now, she DID sleep for a whole 20 minutes, so I don't know what I'm complaining about. :::massive eyeroll:::

This morning Brandon had to leave early, so he tapped me on the shoulder as he was leaving around 6 and scared the living SHIT out of me. I jumped out of bed and my heart wouldn't stop racing. I obviously was having an intense dream or something, because it was so strange. I still feel like I'm on "anxious" mode. Wierd.

I've being doing a piss-poor job at blogging lately, so I apologize to the, maybe ONE person that reads this. LOL!! I feel like life is whirling out of control right now. Luckily I'm done with the Hershey costumes this year, but now I have Ben's costume, countless carriers, shoes, Christmas gifts, advent calendars, bibs, diaper bag orders................GAH, I had to stop typing because my heart palpatations have resurfaced. What's it like to be bored? Please tell me.

I'm just in a generally pissy mood this week, and it's only making the other things that have happened all the more stressful. It it wasn't for the absolutely glorious fall weather we are having, I think I'd be in the looney bin right about now.

Now, I'm going to admit something here that's really crappy, and I feel guilty about it, but here it goes. My best friend's baby shower is on Sunday and I don't want to go. I probably have to go to Hershey to make sure the costumes fit, since it starts the next weekend, and I don't want to try and drive there, and then race to the shower. Leaving from home, the shower is 2 hours away, and Hershey isn't really any closer. So because Sadie won't nap without nursing (we're working on it), I have to take her with me. So she gets to be stuck in a car seat all morning, only to have to sit on my lap or in a stroller the entire shower. If I was a mobile infant, I'd be grumpy too. Meanwhile, Ben and Brandon get to have fun at Asher's first birthday party with all the kids and people that I haven't seen in ages. I'm pissed, and jealous, and sad, and exhausted already. I don't even have a gift because I'm supposed to be making her a carrier and diaper bag, but she hasn't picked out the fabric yet. So I feel like I need to buy a gift, even though I shouldn't and really can't afford to. I'm a brat, I know, but I wish I could cancel and go to the birthday party instead. I miss spending time as a family, and it seems like our commitments monopolize so much of our time lately. I hate having to choose between being a good mom and being a good friend. Being a good mom is obviously WAY more important, but why do I even have to choose? Why does everything have to be on the same damn day?

Sooooo, that's life in a nutshell here in our little slice of heaven. It sounds like the little munchkin is preferable to sleep today, so I need to make the most of my one hour today to get some orders in the mail.
